Shaykh's demand al-Fayiz Dismissal
2008-04-16 - Islam Light - Scores of religious shaykhs have asked Shaykh Abd-al-Rahman Bin-Nasir al-Barrak to demand the dismissal of Deputy Minister of Education Nurah Bint Abdallah al-Fayiz according a story carried by the Islam Light website. The shaykhs based their demand on fatwa issued earlier by the Senior Council of the Ulama that "a woman cannot occupy the position of a governor or a judge" according to the story. Barrak reportedly commented that he would pass the request to Saudi rulers.
